Manicure Must Have

For Perfect Finger Nail

A home manicure is a way to take care of and polish your nails at home, rather than going to a nail salon. Here are the steps for giving yourself a manicure:

  1. Begin by removing any old nail polish with nail polish remover.
  2. Next, use a nail file to shape your nails. You can either round the edges or give them a more squared-off shape.
  3. Soak your hands in warm, soapy water for a few minutes to soften your cuticles.
  4. Use a cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles. You can also use a cuticle trimmer to carefully remove any excess cuticle skin.
  5. Use a nail brush to scrub your nails and remove any remaining dirt or debris.
  6. Pat your hands dry and apply a moisturizing hand cream to your hands and nails.
  7. Apply a base coat to your nails to help protect them and create a smooth surface for the polish.
  8. Choose your nail polish color and apply it to your nails, starting at the base and working your way up to the tip of the nail. Be sure to let each coat dry before applying the next.
  9. Finish with a top coat to seal in the polish and give it a glossy finish.
  10. Let your nails dry completely before doing any tasks that might damage them.

Remember to always be gentle with your nails and cuticles, and to use nail polish remover and nail polish sparingly to prevent drying out your nails.

Steps to do home manicure

  1. Gather your supplies: You will need a nail file, cuticle pusher, cuticle trimmer, nail clipper, cuticle oil, base coat, polish, and top coat.
  2. Prepare your nails: Wash your hands and remove any old polish from your nails using a nail polish remover. Trim your nails to your desired length using the nail clipper.
  3. Shape your nails: Use the nail file to shape your nails into the desired shape, either square, round, or oval.
  4. Push back your cuticles: Gently push back your cuticles using the cuticle pusher. If you have excess cuticle skin, you can carefully trim it with the cuticle trimmer.
  5. Apply cuticle oil: Massage a small amount of cuticle oil into your cuticles to nourish and moisturize them.
  6. Apply base coat: Apply a thin layer of base coat to your nails to protect them and help the polish adhere.
  7. Apply polish: Choose your desired color of polish and apply a thin, even layer to your nails. Make sure to apply the polish to the tip of your nail as well.
  8. Apply top coat: Apply a thin layer of top coat to seal and protect the polish.
  9. Clean up any mistakes: Use a nail polish remover and a cotton swab to clean up any mistakes around the edges of your nails.
  10. Let your nails dry: Allow your nails to dry completely before handling anything or applying lotion to your hands. This can take anywhere from 20-30 minutes depending on the polish and top coat you use.

  1. Nail clipper: This is essential for trimming and shaping your nails before you start your manicure.
  2. Cuticle pusher: A cuticle pusher is used to gently push back the cuticles around your nails, giving them a neat and clean appearance.
  3. Nail file: A nail file is used to smooth out any rough edges or imperfections on your nails, ensuring that they look polished and well-maintained.
  4. Nail polish remover: Before you apply new polish, it is important to remove any old polish that may be left on your nails. Nail polish remover is an essential tool for this purpose.
  5. Base coat, top coat, and nail polish: These are the key components of a perfect at-home manicure. The base coat helps to protect your nails and create a smooth surface for the polish, while the top coat helps to seal in the color and add shine. Make sure to choose a high-quality nail polish that is free from harmful chemicals and provides long-lasting wear.

Always use a glass nail file: Using  a glass nail files they are much gentler on the nail, provide a smoother finish, are more hygenic (you can wash them and they are good to go), they never wear down and…. really.  Emery boards tend to rip quite violently into the layers of the nail, leaving you with jagged edges which, over time. File your nails correctly. To keep your nails at their strongest, avoid filing in a back-and-forth motion — only go in one direction. And never file just after you’ve gotten out of a shower or bath — wet nails break more easily.

Cuticle oil: oil your nails three times a day – morning, noon and night – and that’s how I keep my cuticles in good condition. Cuticle Care Oil softens cuticles and seals in moisture. or i also just  putting a small amount of petroleum jelly or Vitamin E into your cuticle and the skin surrounding your nails every evening before you go to bed or whenever your nails feel dry.
